Music: Count Us In 2012

MUSIC: COUNT US IN 2012

We performed the same song, “Different People

Stand Together” at the same time as over

600,000 other school students across Australia

on Thursday 1st November 2012 to highlight the

importance of music education for ALL students.

At 12:30 p.m. the whole school joined in singing

Different People Stand Together led by some

talented vocal soloists from Stage 3.

The program opened with more talented vocal

soloists, this time from Stage 2 performing The

Song. We were also entertained by the Staff Samba Percussion Group, Stage 3 Ukulele

performers, two drumming soloists, the School Choir performing a swing version of Humpty

Dumpty and the debut performance of the Combined Strings and Recorder Ensembles playing

Beethoven’s Ode to Joy.

Many parents, friends and families joined us for M.C.U.I. 2012 as well as the Kindergarten

students of 2013. Thank you for your support.

Associate Professor Deirdre Russell-Bowie from the Faculty

of Education, Creative Arts at U.W.S. was our guest speaker

for Music Count Us In 2012 and inspired us with her positive

words about music education, especially in primary schools.

We appreciate her support.

Congratulations Padstow Park P.S. staff and students on

your participation in Music: Count Us In 2012.
