Baroque Music

The Musica Viva in Schools live performance by Sounds Baroque will be held on Tuesday 20th September 2011 in the School Hall at 2:15 p.m. Parents, families and friends are welcome to attend free of charge.

Students have been learning the repertoire in Music Classes and have performed the songs with voices, recorders, and marimba as well as with dance and movement. Along with dancing a gavotte and singing the Sonnerie Round, a favourite has been singing the Dungeon Rap which tells the story of Hercules portrayed in the Opera in a fun and contemporary way.

Sounds Baroque will perform an adapted version of French composer Lully's opera Alceste with a production entitled Hercules. The performance will combine the music and instruments of 300 years ago and the humour of today.
