N.S.W. State Junior Music Camp 2010

State Junior Music Camp is open to music students in Years 5-8 in N.S.W. Public Schools. Tam in Year 5
auditioned successfully for a place this year.
State Senior Music Camp was held at the end of Term 2 for those students in Years 9-12.










































































Students elect to perform in Ensemble A ( major elective ) and
Ensemble B.
Students audition on the first day at camp for positions in the Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensembles, Stage Band, Vocal Ensemble and to be soloists with the Rock Band.
In Ensemble B students can perform in Music Theatre, Percussion Ensemble, Recorder Ensemble and Composition.
Tam chose Vocal Ensemble and Music Theatre.
Tam also plays piano, violin and recorder.
State Junior Music Camp ran from Saturday 17th July - Thursday 22nd July 2010 at the Stanwell Tops Conference Centre. Views were amazing from here to the sea and to the Illawarra Escarpment.
There was a student concert each night culminating with a concert for the parents on the Thursday Evening.
Each day began with vocal and instrumental warm-ups from 8.30 a.m.
The final rehearsal for each day ended at 8.30 p.m.

State Junior Music Camp Symphony Orchestra performing Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture. This video clip shows the orchestra in the final stages of this piece. Notice the Strings performing with the Brass section, then the Percussion section features with the tubular bells and the cymbals. You will also notice 3 bassoons, oboes, tuba and trombones in front of the tubular bells.
